Folio - For Fair Trade Bohemian, Ethnic, Alternative & Hippie Cothes and Home Accessories

Folio, established in 1987, offers a wide selection of quality mainly Fair Trade Bohemian, Ethnic, Alternative and Hippie clothing, night wear, corsets, jewellery, furniture, personal and home accessories. Supplying 7000 of the worlds finest Fair Trade Bohemian and Artisan products, Folio was founded when owner/visionary; Amanda began to hand craft and sell Mohair jumpers at the locally renowned ‘Village’ at the iconic Tricorn Centre of Portsmouth, England. With the demand for her own brand ever increasing, Amanda decided to leave the Village behind and forge her own path and create Folio.
The doors were first opened in October of 1987, at Marmion Road, Southsea, where the shop still remains.

Folio itself, known as ‘the purple hippie shop’, has become somewhat of a local landmark. Its popularity as such has meant that it has outgrown the retail space available over its 3 floors, thus the decision had to be made to either relocate to a larger store, open a satellite branch or develop a web store. Eventually the latter was chosen for many reasons; the sheer amount of stock we have to offer, to offer our services to the widest audience possible and most importantly, to offer an affordable service without the worry of overheads to our customers. This also goes hand in hand with our customer service ethic; we wanted to maintain the environment of an independent, home grown shop with a small family of staff. We also wanted to offer a respite to the monotony of characterless high street shops. Folio has the feel of a 60's Carnaby Street Boutique, and all the things you could possibly need to accentuate your own unique beauty.

Our products are carefully sourced from all over the world; from Birmingham to Bali, Peru to Pakistan, Germany to the Ghanges and everywhere in between. We pride ourselves on finding the Fair Trade alternative where possible and offering you, the customer, honest, affordable prices for quality and responsibly sourced products.
